The First Selectman has decreased the Board of Education’s budget by $1.8 million.
This means the loss of: Assistant Principal at Stepney Elementary, Math/Science Specialist, Multi-Language Learning Teacher, part time School Psychologist, part time Inventory Specialist, part time Cybersecurity Specialist, Elimination of 7th Grade World Languages, one First Grade at Monroe Elementary, one PreK Teacher, One Masuk High School Paraeducator,Masuk High School Lit Lab, Summer Reading Program, Stipends (Math/Science Coaches, Tech Integrators, Teacher in Charge, HW Help, Unused), Emergency Repairs, Reduced Supplies for Summer Work. Reduced Summer Help (6 positions), Gate Receipts, Ice Hockey, Middle School Athletic Transportation, Masuk High School Supplies (AAPL, Textbooks, Equip), and more.
