Benjamin Sabia
Town Council
Ben has been a part of Monroe their whole life. Growing up here, they went through the Monroe Public School system and graduated from Masuk High School. The town has always been home, and the experiences along the way have given them a true appreciation for the people, the schools, and the natural spaces that make Monroe special.
These days, Ben serves as a Commissioner on the Inland Wetlands Commission, helping to protect the local environment and keep Monroe’s natural beauty intact for future generations. It’s a role that allows them to give back to the town they’ve always been proud to call home.
When they’re not working on town business, Ben enjoys painting, both on canvas and with plastic miniatures. It’s a hobby that gives them a creative outlet and a chance to unwind while still paying attention to the little details, something they also bring to their community work.
If out in public, you can't miss Ben. His beard is a dead giveaway as well as his love of wearing bright colored shorts sleeved shirts in either Hawaiian print or other styles no matter the weather. Despite his imposing size, he is very approachable and welcomes anyone to walk up to him and talk to him about the way they feel about the town, the community or anything they find fascinating.
As a lifelong resident, graduate of Masuk, and neighbor, Ben is dedicated to Monroe and to making sure it remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
